Student Data Statement

The short version
- Function First never receives, stores, or processes student information.
- Our products are templates. Anything you type into them stays in your own school accounts.
How our products work
Function First resources are documents, slides, and spreadsheets. When you make a copy of a Google file or download a PDF, it lives in your account or on your device. We have no access to your copies, and nothing you type into them is ever sent to us.
What we do collect
Only adult contact information: an email address for the starter pack, and staff details when a school requests a quote. See our Privacy Policy.
Our guidance for schools
- Keep copies that contain student information inside your district's approved accounts and systems.
- Use student IDs or initials rather than full names where possible.
- Follow FERPA, your state's student privacy laws, and your district's data policies.
- Share student-specific documents only with team members who need them.
Examples in our resources
Students described in worked examples and sample data are composites. They don't represent real children.
Data privacy agreements
Because we don't receive student data, many districts don't need a data privacy agreement with us. If your district's process requires one, or a vendor questionnaire, email info@functionfrst.com and we'll complete it.
